Android OS Soon To Have 3D Home Screen

BumpTop 3D Desktop Environment

Google today announced they have bought over BumpTop, the company who created 3D desktop environment for Macs and Windows PC.

As for the deal, BumpTop made it clear that they will stop selling the Pro version of the app immediately and shut down the free version in a week’s time. For Google, they now have access to the 3D desktop environment and definitely to go far with it.

3D Home Screen For Android

Although both the companies have not disclosed their plans for taking the step above but OZCAR feels new 3D effects to come to Android phones in near future. At the moment, the Android 2.1 already has a few small 3D elements such as the photo gallery and we are sure BumpTop will come handy to create a 3D environment for Android phones.

Also last week we showed you that Motorola is planning to launch a 3D Android phone proving that the hardware exist and only the software remains.

Ebook Android, Asik untuk Browsing dan Corat Coret

Ini dia sebuah e-book canggih yang serba bisa. Adalah Entourage Edge, gabungan dari e-book, Netbook dan Android. E-book ini berjalan dengan sistem operasi Android dan berbentuk seperti sebuah buku.

E-book ini terdiri dari 2 panel. Panel di sebelah kiri digunakan sebagai display e-link touchscreen untuk corat-coret atau membuat sebuah 'note'. Sedangkan panel di sebelah kanan adalah layar sentuh dengan resolusi warna 1200x825px yang menampilkan OS Android, untuk kegiatan browsing dan lainnya.

Menarik, e-book ini didukung dengan koneksi Wi-Fi, bahkan jaringan GSM 3G HSDPA/EVDO dengan modem yang telah terintegrasi di dalamnya. Tentu saja acara surfing di dunia maya akan lebih mengasyikkan, karena modem 3G dan Wi-Fi internet dapat dilakukan dimana saja.

Tak hanya itu, E-book ini juga mendukung format audio MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG dan M4A serta video dalam format 3GP, MP4 dan H264 (HD Video). Untuk format reader, enTourage Edge mendukung format ePub dan PDF.

Akan sangat bermanfaat jika E-book serba guna ini dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran di sekolah-sekolah di Indonesia. Sayang, E-book ini masih hanya tersedia di Amerika dan Kanada dengan pre-order $490 dan akan dikirim sekitar bulan Februari 2010.
